O3+ Plunge Watermelon Set Review

I’m reviewing the most famous mask and serum combo right now which is all over the internet. Keep reading to see if its worth it or just a big promotion scheme.

,,O3+ Plunge Watermelon Glow Mask

Product Description: Plunge into watermelon goodness with this brightening & moisturising O3+ Plunge watermelon glow mask. This mask amazingly hydrates, lightens and brightens skin while unifying skin tone! It is a luxuriously bouncy, breathable sleeping mask that smoothes and perfects skin while increasing the moisture level. This breathable formula acts as a radiance-boosting hydrator, formulated with soothing, amino-acid rich watermelon extract, moisturising hyaluronic acid, and pore refining AHAs that work efficiently on dull, dry skin!

Price: Rs 740/- for 50 gms

Packaging: I love the colorful packaging. It comes in this lively green and red cardboard box with full details printed on it. The tub inside is made of frosted glass bottom and silver screw cap. The details are printed on the sticker. The tub has some weight on it so its not ideal for traveling.

Formula: Its a gel based mask. The consistency is somewhere between too thick and too runny. Its smells like old school lipgloss or your childhood candy. The scent isn’t very overpowering so doesn’t irritate the eyes. It is sticky on the skin.

My Experience: I brought this only because everyone everywhere and their mother was talking about it. When it was launched in U.S on Sephora it was sold out in couple of hours, So you see why I was intrigued. So when it went on sale on Nykaa I bought it and frankly I’m not disappointed. I’m loving the mask and I use it twice a week and also when I want that extra glow the next day. You can obviously use it everyday but because I constantly try out new products. I use this twice a week. I love the scent the most.

I clean my face then apply a thick layer and keep it for 15 mins it usually gets absorbed on my face because my skin is dry. After 15 mins I take a wet cloth and wipe off the excess and go on with the matching serum.

It makes my skin smooth and supple. I like the glow it gives me and leaves my skin hydrated. I have been using this for 2 months now and I’m gonna keep using it. This mask has a more of an instant then a long term effect. So you do have to keep using it.

Even when you haven’t rested or got enough sleep this mask makes it look like you have. One tub should last you for 3 months if used 2 or 3 times a week. If used regularly it will last 2 months.

My Ratings:

Price: Rs 740/- for 10 gm

Packaging: The cardboard design is watermelon color co-ordinated which makes it fun and cute. But obviously who keeps the outer packaging. Inside the bottle is small (really small compared to the cardboard box) It is a dropper packaging which is perfect for serums. It is a glass bottle with sticker which has information. You can see the quantity inside as its a transparent glass body. Its light and travel friendly.

Formula: Its a thick consistency serum looks pale pink in the bottle but goes on transparent on the skin. Its sticky till it completely gets absorbed. The scent is like candy and is not overpowering same like its mask.

My Experience: I have a love hate relationship with this one. I love the formula and I use it in combination with the mask but I hate how expensive it is for a very small bottle which will last you only a month if used regularly. Since I use it only twice a week it will last me another month or so.

I apply it after the mask and it takes a while to get absorbed and it feels sticky so keep your hands away till then. You need 3 drops to cover your full face and 2 more drops if you apply on your neck too. The serum is gonna get over before the mask. But saying so I do feel the combination of the two works better then individual use.

I apply another moisturizer over the serum (it locks in better that way) I use this at night but if you can use it in the day but a sunscreen on top is compulsory if you do.

To see a difference on the skin you have to use it regularly.

My Ratings:

Overall Review: I tend to go for products which carter to brightening since I have dull skin and this combination gives me a good bright glow and smooth skin so I have been loving the watermelon set.

If you had to buy one out of the two, I would suggest go with the mask. I feel the mask is worth the buy more then the serum. That saying I would definitely repurchase both when it finishes because I genuinely love the set together.

**This set will be perfect for all those who will need a cure for a hangover after the 31st-eve party.

Availability: Its presence is only online in India and I bought mine From Nykaa during their sale. They do have a chocolate glow set in the range (maybe after I finish this I will try that).

In U.S the packaging and the name of the product are different. It is known as watermelon juice in the U.S and also comes in pink frosted glass packaging.

For reference: I have dull, dry to combination (my nose is oily) and sensitive skin and have pigmentation around my lips and on the outline of my face. I’m not prone to acne but I do get them and sometimes heat boils due to weather change which does leave marks sometimes. I have a few blemishes too on my face. I have dark circles under my eyes.
