Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

Product Description:

Ultra Satin Lip A creamy, bold lipstick with a satin finish. This formula has the same high percentage of pigments as an Ultra Matte Lip but contains emollient ingredients for added moisture, keeping lips looking fresh and feeling super comfortable.

Though this lipstick is super long-wearing, it is not completely kiss-proof and does transfer.

Packaging:

Classic round tube packaging with glass bottom and silver screw cap. Name of the brand and lipstick is on the tube and the name of color is on the bottom. Doe foot applicator, works well for the formula and gives an even finish. Can be used easily even if you have small lips. Its easy enough to travel with. Basically the same as the Ultra Matte lipstick packaging.

My Experience:

Okay so if you are someone who doesn’t like the drying feeling the ultra matte gives but at the same time want something just as long lasting then this is your best buddy. These lipsticks are just as long lasting as the ultra matte and not as drying, but are not transfer proof and kiss proof, you can skip lip balm with these. It doesn’t transfer that much as the day goes but it still does leave a stain when you eat and drink. These are super pigmented. Opaque in one swipe.
Also the lipstick have a shiny feel on the lips for the first couple of hours, not glossy or anything. They are still matte lipstick but have a satin finish like the name says. It does take longer to dry as compared to the ultra matte since these don’t dry down completely.

It does lasts on me a good 10- 11 hours on me even with eating and drinking so I definitely love these. If you wanna get rid of the shine finish you can always just blot it when you apply it and then let it dry, doing this also reduces the amount of transfer. If you eat anything too oily it will fade a little from the middle. Reapplication is easy but don’t over do it otherwise it gets crusty from the middle (usually the nude shades do so, not the dark shades)

Now that I have spoken all about the formula as much as I can I’m gonna talk about the shades I own:

  • Lucky star: So this is recent purchase and I love this shade its a gorgeous true red color and it will look good on every single skin tone. I wore this for my friends wedding function and it stayed on my lips for good 8 hours without feathering or fading and I did eat like a lot of oily stuff so this shade is a big winner in my books.
  • Rever: Again got this shade because its from Kathleenlights like the lucky star. I got this in a combo with another ultra satin and gloss. This shade is a bright red with orange being the strong tone. On me it pulls a little more neon compared to on my sister’s lips. I rarely use this but I love the shade but my cousin loved it so much while swatching this that she got one for herself from Crimson.luxe immediately.
  • Dopey: This shade somehow looks better on deeper skin tone compared to medium skin tone. Fair skin tone will like this shade too. This shade belongs to my cousin just took for swatching it for you guys. Its a cool tone light purple which looks more pink depending on your skin tone. This color doesn’t work for me (looks white based on me) and I prefer Lumerie more from the ultra matte so I don’t own this shade.
  • Frick-n-frack: I have had this color for ever, my first ultra satin ever and I fell in love. I use this one on almost all smokey eye looks and use this on days I just want a gorgeous nude without any fuss. This shade will also look good on all skin tones since its a brown based nude will look more pink or terracotta depending on your tone.
  • Dreamy: I got this in the combo with Rever and this is a bright peppy nude which will look neon on you if you are deep skin tone. This shade is better for fair to medium skin tone. Its a peachy based nude and I wear it whenever I feel my look is dull. But I can’t use this shade on bare face makes me look weird.
  • Point Zero: A cool tone brown based light nude. Something you are not gonna find anywhere easily. It can look a little grey if you are deep skin tone and you have no other makeup on. This shade is great to mix with other shades to make them more cool tone and grungy. This shade looks a lot more nude on my cousin then on me. I sometimes wear a warm brown lip liner underneath and then go over with this gives me neutral based brown as per my skin tone and looks amazing. Its one of my fav since its Kathleenlights obviously.

I would totally recommend this lipstick and they have some really amazing shades. Definitely try one of the nude colors since this formula is comfortable on the lips without looking all crusty and its long lasting.
