Packaging: It comes in a grey color cardboard box with the product info printed on it. The tub itself is made of amber glass with matte black screw lid. The logo is on the lid and the product name and other details are printed on the tub. All their masks have different color coded labels printed on them. This one is in teal. The name is printed on this teal color sticker. The tub does have the regular white protective lid inside for anti-spillage problems.

Formula: It is grey color based clay mask which has small shreds of green tea leaves. The consistency isn’t very thick neither runny. It has amazing fragrance to it because of tea tree oil and peppermint oil in it. It feels cooling, tingling and very fresh on the skin. It does get tight when it dries.

How to use it: Before applying the mask, I would recommend cleansing your face. I use a face pack brush as it gives an even application. Once applied all over your face and neck. Let it sit for 10 to 15 mins. This pack does dry pretty quickly. But the cooling tingling sensation feels nice on the skin. It does get tight as it dries. After its completely dry you can use your wet fingers to exfoliate as the green tea particles help to clean your skin better. Then use a wet cloth to wipe off the remaining mask. Use a toner and moisturizer afterwards to see better results. It does get messy to remove so use it in the shower.

Over all Experience: I started using this mask a month and half back and I’m in love with it. I have dry skin but my T-zone is oily and prone to black heads and white heads. I sometimes suffer from skin rashes and tiny bumps on my forehead. This mask has helped with all these issues and more in a very short time I use this once a week especially when I feel my pores are clogged. This masks smells and feels amazing on the skin. This mask is perfect for oily skin people as it helps with sucking out the excess oil without drying the skin. But I would always recommend using a hydrating moisturizer after using any type of mask especially clay mask. I know its a costly masks but in the end I do feel its worth it.

Packaging: It comes in a simple low quality transparent container. The product details are printed on white sticker on the container. The quality or style of the product is nothing fancy but its doable and doesn’t have problems unless you drop it on a hard surface.

Formula: It is in a dry powder form. Its grey in color and gritty in texture, It forms a paste when mixed with another ingredient like rose water or aloe vera juice. The paste is very easy to apply. It does have a herbal Fragrance to it nothing too strong even though it has tea tree and peppermint in it.

How to use it: Now I have dry to combination skin so I prefer using aloe vera juice to make the paste. But you can always use it with plain water or rose water or even orange juice. If you have very dry skin you can mix it with curd.

I apply it using my fingers as its easier to spread. Keep it for around 10 mins. It does have a cooling effect on the skin. It dries off pretty quickly so spray some rose water before scrubbing it. As it has granules, it exfoliates your skin and helps to remove blackheads and whiteheads which makes your skin smooth and soft. Wipe off the rest with a wet cloth. It can get messy so be careful while removing it.

Over all Experience: This is basically my 5th tub. I have been using this for over a year. They have this in two sizes, I bought the smaller one because Juicy Chemistry products are pure and organic thus expire in 6 months. I use this mask once in two weeks (because I have other masks to try too) more in the summers. I do see a difference every time I use this mask. It cleans your pores, but not completely. Also doesn’t dry your skin out. It does help in reducing breakouts if used regularly.

I love Juicy Chemistry as a brand. They make pure and organic products which actually show results in few uses. And price point wise is quite reasonable. This charcoal mask is one of the best from their range.

Ratings:

Overall I love both the mask equally and use both of them alternately.

  • If seen from price point Juicy Chemistry wins but it does need another product in conjunction which is an added expense and effort(but you can always just use plain water).
  • As per results The Body Shop wins because it shows instant results as compared to juicy chemistry, as it gives you an instant glow and tightens your pores too. You have to keep using Juicy chemistry mask for atleast 2 months for it to show proper effects.
  • Both brands are organic and cruelty free which is bonus
  • The Body Shop is more easily available as compared to Juicy Chemistry.
  • If you have oily skin I would recommend The body shop mask but if you have dry skin or sensitive skin I would recommend the Juicy chemistry mask.

For reference: I have dull, dry and sensitive skin and have pigmentation around my lips and on the outline of my face. I’m not prone to acne but I do get them and sometimes heat boils due to weather change which do leave marks sometimes. I have few blemishes too on my face. I have dark circles under my eyes.

*P.S: All opinions are my own and honest. The above mentioned products are bought and paid for by me. What works for me may not work for you. Trying before buying is always recommended. Check out a few reviews till your satisfied.
