Nose strip Battle

Growing up I was always told using nose strips will make your skin loose and also it hurt like hell so I always stayed away from them. Even when I was in college and was developing strawberry nose I still stuck to natural remedies like honey and turmeric, but there came a point in my life where it wasn’t working and I needed something else. I also tried a bunch of scrubs and masks. Finally came to nose strips but then I saw so many I did not know which one to use and got me confused me more. Well I tried till I found me my soul mate and I’m doing this so you all don’t have to suffer like me. There are obviously more choice then the ones I am specifying and I’ll try those too and review them for you later (let me know if any particular one you want me to try first).

1. Charcoal Nose Mask:

Now there are two versions of this going around in the market. Both costs different but are from the same brand same importer, with same labels and instructions. One I bought from the beauty center for Rs 120/- and I really liked it and I wanted to repurchase but I did not have the time to go to the shop so I decided to order it online from Nykaa which costs me Rs 250/- after discount because the MRP on the packaging is Rs 450/-

So the Nykaa one comes with barcode on the packaging but the beauty center one doesn’t have any barcode. Now as far as the quality, I see no difference and if I had to choose I would prefer the beauty center as it was cheap it removed one or two more blackhead compared to the one I got from Nykaa.

Its a simple no fuss nose strip. Fits properly on the nose and doesn’t hurt as much when removing. Removes all the dirt and white heads at first go, but if you have really stubborn blackhead I would suggest make it soft before hand with warm water.

Over all a very good option and the most easily available nose strip comparatively.

2. Beautiz Charcoal Nose Pore Strips:

Now these strips are something I tried after the charcoal strips but I really like these a hair more then those. The only problem with these are, they are not easily available like the charcoal ones.

These are kind of the same but is perfect for even stubborn blackhead and also it has these strategic cuts over which somehow makes it fit much better on the nose without any irritation. But these costs Rs 259/- for 6 strips which is more compared to the charcoal strips, though the quality of the strip is better. It instantly makes your nose smooth and clean and also the new blackheads don’t pop up as fast either.

I got these from the beauty center too and I can’t find these online.

3. Mary Jo K Gold Nose Pore Strips:

I just bought this on random from Beauty Center again and I wasn’t expecting to like it but I really did. Infact I reach for it more often then others. This one doesn’t irritate my nose after I remove it, like after the charcoal ones my nose feels a little itchy but this one doesn’t cause any itchiness for me.

Also these strips also have those strategic cuts which makes it perfect fit for your nose whether big or small. I don’t remember at what price I got it but I’ll link it online for you guys to check it out. This is more appropriate for people who don’t very stubborn black heads and have more white heads as it milder compared to the other nose strips. It has 10 strips.

4. The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Nose Strips:

Now a lot of you have already tried this since Face shop Products are usually the best and I agree because I truly love this one. This one is loaded with the volcanic ash which completely sucks out the gunk stuck on your nose. But I am not the biggest fan of the smell. I actually like the aloe version better but that is usually out of stock so I got this. This is great for any skin type and any skin concern. But don’t make your nose too wet before applying this, since the ash sticks to your nose and the strip doesn’t pull off the blackhead properly.

Over all this is a very good strip option but it can also be expensive for regular purchase since you get only 7 strips at Rs 300/-

5. Health & Glow Black Head Remover In Aloe Vera

Because I was planning on doing this Nose strip battle I was looking for different nose strips whenever I was out, so when I saw this in Health & Glow I immediately picked it up. They have it in two variants charcoal and aloe vera, I was fed up of charcoal so went with Aloe vera and I was surprised to like it so much. Infact I plan to get more of these and use on an everyday basis. I like the packaging also of this. Its no muss no fuss, no wastage of extra plastic, you can reuse the zip lock bag and the strip is small and perfect for your nose curve. It doesn’t irritate my nose after removing it and it doesn’t even hurt. It removes all your white and black heads and also the tiny hair stuck here and there without any harsh feeling. My pores don’t even feel all that open afterwards, I really like that feeling of smooth nose without itchiness.

It comes in a quite packaging with 10 strip at Rs 250/- which is good enough to repurchase. But I can’t find this on their website so you will have to visit a store to get your hands on these.

6. Hip Hop Cleansing Charcoal Nose Strips:

Can I start with I hate this, I know a lot of you have loved this but I really don’t. First its super expensive you get only 3 strips at Rs 90/- which is stupid and the quality of the strip isn’t the greatest. I got this because I had heard good things about it and also I was out of nose strips at that point of time that’s why I don’t have a pic of the strip since I used them all.

It hurt more then the other nose strips I have used and also it caused a lot of irritation on my nose after removing it. It caused me itchiness as soon I applied it on my nose and it didn’t even make my nose soft and smooth like its suppose to. I wouldn’t recommend this if you have sensitive skin otherwise you can give it a try.

7. Cettua Silky and Clear Nose Strip with Witch Hazel.

I would recommend this if you want to try the Hip Hop one but have sensitive skin, this is much better and comes round about the same range and same type but this did not irritate my nose afterwards. This is great for normal use but won’t remove the stubborn black heads but it removes all the dead skin and tiny hair and also makes your nose extra smooth and the pores don’t feel all that open once you remove the strip which is good.

I bought this from the shop so it costs me Rs 100/- for 6 strips which is okay but it is expensive online

Tips and Tricks:

  • Always make sure you wet your nose with warm water before you apply any nose strips.
  • If you have stubborn black heads scrub before you apply the nose strip.
  • While removing pull the strip towards the centre.
  • Always remember to close your pores as soon as you remove the strip with cold water/rose water or ice cube or any toner.
  • If it hurts to remove the strip just wet it on top and it will come off easily.
