Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave 30 Eyeshadow

This makeup revolution palette came out in 2016 in collaboration with Bristish Beauty Blogger and was suppose to be a limited addition. When it was launched all bloggers were raving about it and it did not stay on the shelves for long, soon it got out of stock.

I ordered this palette from an Instagram page since it wasn’t available in India and I definitely wanted to give this palette a go, as I was loving the colors and I wasn’t disappointed when my palette showed up.

Description:

  • Thirty shades of matte, glimmer and sheen combine in one golden palette for an every which-way smoky eye.
  • From the lightest of brightening base colors to the darkest, most daring shades of navy, black and green and everything in between, Fortune is the most versatile, every-age, every-tone palette yet.

Packaging: The palette came in a golden cardboard box with the name in the front and the colors on the back. Inside the palette itself is also gold in color and the casing is made of hard plastic and gives the feel of metal. The plastic is of okay quality, not flimsy and closes with a click sound. (be careful when you open and close constantly, the click spoils over a period of time.) On the back the palette details are printed.

The palette is of the perfect size to travel as its not too big nor too small. There are many colors for different looks.

The palette also comes with a dual ended brush which isn’t that bad and can be used if you are on the go for touch ups. There is also a plastic sheet which comes inside the palette which have the names of the shades printed on it.

The best part of the palette is the big mirror. Its plain and large in size, making it perfect to use when you are traveling.

About the palette: The palette has amazing combinations of different textures of colors ranging from matte, metallic, shimmer and some are two toned baked shadows which look gorgeous on the eyes. The shade ranges from neutral earthy tones to deep plum, blues, green and grey.

The best part of this palette is that it has light shade, highlight shade and also a black shade which gives this palette a complete look.

This palette doesn’t have crazy warm colors, so if you are new and want one eye-shadow palette for an everyday use, This Makeup Revolution Palette is perfect.

There is some fallout in some shades so a primer is recommended. Do your eye makeup before your base if you hate fallout or else just tap off the excess from the brush and gently tap it on your eyelids to manage fallout.

The shades are not too pigmented so they are perfect for beginners. All shades are pretty buildable. If you want to make the metallic colors more intense use a wet brush (spray some makeup fixing spray) or else use a glitter primer before applying shimmery shades or you can always use your finger

The color placement in the palette makes it easier to match different colors with each other to get versatile looks.

This palette will last you a while so it is a good investment overall as it is quite affordable.

(for 30 shades)

Buffer is more my skin tone so its not that visible, but it can be build on and its a good blending shade. Glimmer is a more an all over wash of shimmer shade which will look great over a base color. The rest of the colors are perfect for all over the lid.

Other then ice cloud all colors are buildable and have good color pay off. Smoothie can look a little chalky but its a pretty green which looks great on outer corner.

Creme is should be basically avoided as it doesn’t have any color payoff and can look really chalky on the lids. Latte is a great blending shade even for dark pigmented eyes. Drama queen needs to be blended little by little otherwise it could look muddy on the eyelids. Blacqua is a good reliable black so go easy with it.

Soft is really chalky so just avoid it and use the other mattes in the palette. all the metallic in this row are amazing. The Revolution is more plum but looks a lot like black, It has shimmer but can be used on outer corner blending.
